IQAIR MULTIGAS GC - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The IQAir MultiGas GC is a customized air purifier that is designed to control a wide-spectrum of molecular and particulate contaminants. Just like a military gas mask, the IQAir MultiGas GC relies on an interchangeable advanced filter cartridge system to control gaseous chemicals, odours and other molecular pollutants. The IQAir MultiGas GC air purifier features a high-efficiency micro and nano particle pre-filter containing a total surface area of 30 sq. ft. of HEPA H11 class material, mini-pleated with solvent-free separators. This pre-filter is 98% effective at removing allergens and particulate matter down to 0.3 microns in size. The HEPA pre-filter is also designed to protect and significantly extend the life of the more expensive gas cartridges by preventing particulates from clogging their pores. The pre-filter should be replaced every 6 to 18 months depending on the concentration of contaminants in the room.

In the next filtration stage, the IQAir MultiGas GC utilizes four wide-spectrum gas cartridges containing 12 lbs. of granular activated carbon and impregnated alumina. This media is designed to eliminate a broad range of gaseous organic and inorganic compounds, as well as many unpleasant odours. The cylindrical shape of these cartridges allows for optimum contact with contaminants and ensures high removal efficiency, while their large surface area results in increased airflow rates. To maintain their effectiveness, the gas cartridges should be changed every 1 to 3 years depending on the level of contaminants in the air.

Each gas cartridge is fitted with a post-filtration sleeve featuring a total of 6.5 sq. ft. of electrostatically charged media. These sleeves are designed to capture 99% of any remaining fine dust, chemisorption abrasion particles and inert carbon dust escaping from the gas cartridges through the use of a statically charged fibre structure. These post-filter sleeves are usually replaced at the same time as the gas cartridges, i.e., every 1 to 3 years.

The IQAir MultiGas GC air purifier features a modular housing design that enables easy replacement of each filter element in a matter of seconds. The two locking arms simply release, and the top diffuser is removed, allowing access to a frame that holds the HEPA pre-filter. The four individual gas cartridges pop out easily and the post-filter sleeves simply slip over them. Because the pre-filter, gas cartridges and post-filter sleeves are all separate, they can be changed at different time intervals, as required.

By positioning the fan motor in the centre of the air purifier, between the filters rather then after the filter stages, the IQAir MultiGas GC is able to offer superior noise absorption. A unique double-walled housing design and eight vibration-absorbing rubber pads also help to make this unit relatively quiet while operating at peak efficiency.

The IQAir MultiGas GC air purifier is also engineered for superior air gathering and delivery. Air is gathered at dual arches at the base of the unit, while an exclusive 320 degree Evenflow™ air output located at the top of the machine provides exceptional air circulation throughout the entire room. This design also virtually eliminates the problem of “shortcutting” (i.e., newly filtered air being immediately re-filtered) that occurs when the air outlet and intake in an air purifier are positioned too closely to one another.

The IQAir MultiGas GC has a full control panel featuring an intelligent filter life monitor that indicates the status of each filter, as well as a programmable timer to adjust air flow rates throughout the day. This air purifier also features six fan speed settings to allow total control over the air flow rate and can be operated from the control panel or via the remote control unit that is included with the unit. The housing of the IQAir MultiGas GC unit is made of non off-gassing, impact resistant, UV-stabilized ABS material for safety and durability.
