EPURAIR MA-1 - PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Among the most impressive particle filtration systems on the market, Epurair MA-1 air purifiers offer outstanding removal of allergens such as pollen, dust, mould spores, pet dander, dust mite by-products and other airborne particulate contaminants. By means of an innovative titanium pigment sealing joint, a hermetic seal is created between the filter and the ventilation casing, ensuring that absolutely no air bypasses the filters. The result is that 99.97% of airborne particles 0.3 microns and larger entering the system are captured and prevented from re-entering your indoor air environment. Even though Epurair MA-1 air purifiers are primarily sold for particle filtration, they are also capable of removing other harmful airborne pollutants, such as chemicals, gases and odours, via a carbon pre-filter and a VOC carbon trap cloth filter.

Both the Epurair MA-1P portable unit and the Epurair MA-1C whole-house system feature a powerful, three-stage filtration system. As air is drawn into the air purifier by its energy-efficient, ultra-quiet motor, it first passes through a carbon pre-filter that is designed to capture large particles such as dust, pollen and fibres. This pre-filter can be vacuumed, washed or replaced every 3-6 months and prolongs the life of the more expensive HEPA filter.

As the air continues through the system, the next cleaning stage it encounters is the large certified medical-grade HEPA filter that removes the tiny, lung-penetrating particles that are considered to be the most dangerous to long-term health. This filter’s lifespan is typically 5 years (or 3 years in homes with high concentrations of contaminants such as cigarette smoke).

During the final cleaning stage, air passes through the washable VOC carbon trap cloth filter that removes volatile organic compounds present in the air in the form of gases, fumes and odours. This carbon filter should be washed or replaced annually to maintain its effectiveness. Multiple carbon filters (up to four), can be installed in Epurair MA-1 air purifiers to enhance their odour, gas and chemical adsorption. All filters are easily accessed by simply lifting the top cover of the unit (i.e., no tools required).

Epurair MA-1 air purifiers also have a special diffuser integrated into their filter systems that allow the units to be used as aromatherapy devices as well as air purifiers for those who wish to do so. In addition, this diffuser can be used with MicroGerme® treatment (available in the Annual Replacement Kit) to combat mould. MicroGerme® is an all-natural group of compounds that prevents the growth of mould in your ductwork and on surfaces in your home.

Epurair MA-1 air purifiers use a German-manufactured, thermally protected, class B insulated circulation motor that is both energy efficient and ultra-quiet. These units have an all-metal housing made of 18-gauge, cold-rolled steel that eliminates toxic off-gassing, and baked-on powder paint with a polyurethane diamond finish for durability. The Epurair MA-1P is also supplied with a set of casters that can be attached to the unit to facilitate easy maneuverability.

Because of its modular design, the Epurair MA-1P air purifier can be modified at any time to be installed directly into your HVAC system through the purchase of a conversion kit. The Epurair MA-1C can also be purchased directly for use as a central system (and later converted to a portable system via a conversion kit if desired). The Epurair MA-1C uses the existing ductwork throughout the house to assist in cleaning the air in homes of up to 2,000 sq. ft., and can easily be installed by any professional heating and cooling company. Installation costs typically range from $150 to $250, depending on your home’s existing HVAC system and the materials required.
