Top-of-the-line features, unbelievable room coverage and high performance air cleaning make the Blueair 603 HEPASilent air purifier, and its fully electronic big brother – the Blueair 650E HEPASilent air purifier – the flagship models of the Blueair line. The Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E are not only visually striking, but offer functionality, proven effectiveness and years of dependable service. Able to completely exchange the air 4 times per hour in an 800 square foot room, these air purifiers are perfect for people looking for premium air cleaning for large rooms, open concept living spaces or spacious apartments.
While most high-capacity room air purifiers require a powerful fan to draw the air in and force it through the HEPA filtration system, the SurroundAir™ technology used in the Blueair 603 HEPASilent and Blueair 650E HEPASilent air purifiers attain peak performance without the accompanying noise of a powerful fan. This is accomplished by means of three separate filters with progressively smaller pores, and an internal electrostatic ionizer that negatively charges the incoming particles to ensure that they adhere effortlessly to the positively-charged filter material. The bottom line is that Blueair 603 and 650E air purifiers are able to achieve higher air flow rates, with lower power consumption and less noise, while still capturing a remarkable 99.97% of particles down to 0.1 microns (i.e., three times smaller than the particles handled by traditional medical-grade HEPA filters).
Unlike conventional electrostatic air cleaners, the Blueair 603 HEPASilent and Blueair 650E HEPASilent air purifiers are completely safe for allergy and asthma sufferers because they release absolutely no ozone or ozone by-products into the air. In fact, laboratory tests show that Blueair HEPASilent air purifiers will significantly reduce ozone concentrations in rooms where electronic devices (e.g., computers, printers, televisions) are being operated.
Rather than using traditional glass and paper filters that are brittle and can splinter easily, Blueair manufactures their air purifier filters out of more flexible polypropylene. Polypropylene is non-toxic and naturally hydrophobic, inhibiting bacteria, virus and mould growth without the need for chemical additives or washes. Although the Blueair 603 HEPASilent and the Blueair 650E HEPASilent are mainly purchased to control particles (e.g., house and textile dust, pollen, pet dander, fungi/mould spores, dust mites, fine ash, combustion particles, laser printer/photocopier emissions and other microscopic particulate matter), a thin layer of activated carbon is also incorporated into their filters to help reduce small amounts of chemicals, gases and odours.
For those seeking a unit with enhanced chemical, gas and odour removal, both the Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E air purifiers can be equipped with optional SmokeStop filters (instead of the standard HEPASilent filters). Featuring 5.3 lbs. of granular activated carbon, blended with potassium iodide, phosphoric acid and potassium hydroxide, Blueair 603 SmokeStop and Blueair 650E SmokeStop air purifiers provide better adsorption of tobacco smoke and other gaseous pollutants, while providing the same outstanding level of particle filtration that the HEPASilent filters do.
To maintain optimal air cleaning performance and ensure warranty coverage, the filters in the Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E air purifiers (both HEPASilent and SmokeStop models) must be replaced every 6 months. The convenient magnetic filter replacement indicator supplied with Blueair 603 models, and the built-in LCD display on Blueair 650E models, will remind owners when it's time to change the filters. The three filters themselves can be replaced with ease by simply opening the lid of the air purifier, removing the old filters, sliding the new ones in and closing the lid. Quick and simple!
Blueair 650E air purifiers are the same as the 603 models in all respects, except that they have greater air flow rates for larger room coverage, as well as LCD displays and state-of-the-art electronic controls. Independent dust and odour sensors control the Blueair 650E in Auto Mode, adjusting fan speeds to automatically handle detected particulates, chemicals and odours in the air. ‘E’ models are also supplied with a wireless remote control unit for timer functions and manual adjustment of air flow rates from up to 20 feet away.
Constructed of noise-muffling galvanized steel instead of resonating plastic, even the housing of Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E air purifiers are designed with quietness in mind. On their lower fan speed settings, the Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E offer whisper-silent operation, with sound levels so low that you may wonder if your Blueair air purifier is actually on.
Energy Star qualified, both the Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E use significantly less power than other units on the market, making them not only environmentally responsible, but economical to operate. Made in the US from recyclable materials of exceptional quality, Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E air purifiers are built to provide years of reliable service. A special powder-coated finish ensures that Blueair air purifiers produce no chemical off-gassing, and to further protect the planet, Blueair filter media converts into harmless carbon dioxide and water as it decomposes.
With their sleek, contemporary good looks, the Blueair 603 and Blueair 650E air purifiers offer a quiet solution to your high-performance air cleaning needs. Designed for large rooms, main floors and open concept living areas, these air purifiers are also an excellent choice for master bedrooms, basements, kitchens, offices and large apartments. Both the Blueair 603 and 650E have wheels attached for easy maneuverability, and are a neutral off-white and dark grey colour to complement almost any décor.
