It offers all the benefits of the Austin Air HealthMate Jr. model, but uses an activated carbon blend that is impregnated with potassium iodide to more effectively remove chemically-reactive gases, offering enhanced protection from formaldehyde, ammonia and other hazardous chemical fumes produced by household cleaning products, detergents, paints, furniture, carpets, drapery, office equipment, etc. The Austin Air Healthmate Plus Jr. is also capable of removing airborne particles such as pollen, dust, mould spores and pet dander, as well as controlling odours in small spaces.

The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. features a Permafilt pre-filter that is designed to be easily vacuumed from the outside, making this air purifier simple to maintain and eliminating costly 3-month pre-filter changes. The Austin Air HealthMate Plus Jr. uses a combined medical-grade HEPA and 6.5 lb. activated carbon/zeolite/potassium iodide blend filter that only needs to be replaced once every five years. This air purifier also features a perforated 24 gauge steel, 360 degree air intake housing with over 3 square feet of intake area for exceptional air gathering capability, three fan speed settings, and a louvered air flow output directed to one side from the upper deck.
